Growth Peak has partnered with an ESD Implementation Partner and a mining giant to on-board 48 SMMEs for Access to Markets coaching. These SMMEs are from mining communities in areas around Vaal, Emalahleni and New Denmark.
So far, 22 SMMEs have been on-boarded with 26 getting on-boarded this week. The process started in 2023 where Access to Markets training was provided for the 48 SMMEs and now they are moving to the next stage of one-on-one coaching. The focus will be on accessing new supply chains in other mines and growing their scope with their current mining clients.
“This project is exciting and we have formed a great relationship with the SMMEs”, said Sibusiso Nkosi, founder of Growth Peak. “Our business is all about growth and we want to ensure that these SMMEs have practical steps to expand their market.”
This is Growth Peak’s 3rd project in the mining sector in the last 3 years. In 2021, the company secured a retainer contract to help in managing two business hubs in 2 mining communities. “In 2021 we were approached by another ESD institution to assist with strategy when it comes to managing ESD hubs for a global mine and we gladly accepted,” said Nkosi. “We have been working on that contract ever since and it allowed us to work with hundreds of SMMEs.” Towards the end of 2023, the company worked with 2 beneficiaries in another project to secure them deals in the mining sector.
Sibusiso Nkosi, Founder of Growth Peak, boasts over 15 years working with transformation policies and ESD. He is also a Certified Educator in Entrepreneurship. As an activist for SMMEs, his focus is ensuring that they get opportunities to expand. “We are very fortunate that our ESD partners share the same passion as us,” he said “We are always looking to make impact when it comes to supply chain diversity and working with these 48 SMMEs will give us an opportunity to do so.”
